Latest research highlights the changing global recruitment marketplace


The latest Global Talent Barometer survey from The Network analyses the international jobseeker. The survey, conducted in late 2011, is the largest of its kind, assessing the opinions of over 160,000 jobseekers in 66 countries.

Key trends

  • London is the most desirable city for international jobseekers
  • More Brits want to work abroad than in 2009 - 63% of UK jobseekers said they would consider working overseas, an increase of 17% on 2009
  • Almost half of all international jobseekers would consider moving to the UK - second only to the US in terms of popularity
  • The opportunity to broaden one's experience is the most cited reason to work overseas, but jobseekers from the UK are more likely than the global average to work overseas for a better quality of life and to start a new life
  • Over half of UK jobseekers would move overseas for 5 years or more, compared to 37% of global jobseekeers
